Summer of 2022 was the silver lining of hope that has brought us all back together again!  We were able to bring students back to our campuses and provide them with the hands-on research opportunities they have been missing since 2020.  We were also fortunate to have our national symposium take place in person this year in Hartford, Connecticut. 

In 2021 we welcomed new members to The Leadership Alliance, AbbVie, Prarie View A&M University, and Caltech.  We are excited to have them as part of our community. We look forward to the journey ahead.

The Leadership Alliance’s Virtual Professional Development (VPD) series is the result of a collaborative effort that leverages the expertise of Alliance researchers and program administrators to share and demystify the research pathway. The Leadership Alliance VPD provides a robust networking and professional development experience, preparing students for navigating the graduate school application process, graduate school itself, and beyond!

The Leadership Alliance presented two sessions at the 2018 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Scientists (ABRCMS), which was hosted by the American Society of Microbiology in Indianapolis, Indiana from November 14-17.

The Leadership Alliance has received a $1,250,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to continue supporting summer undergraduate research in the humanities and related social sciences for underrepresented students.

The Leadership Alliance kicked off the Fall recruiting season by participating in Morehouse College’s STEM Research Symposium on August 31, 2017.
