Dr. Marcus B. Jones is an Executive Director at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in Tarrytown, NY. Marcus received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Dr. Jones was awarded a prestigious fellowship from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation that would fully support his doctoral studies at New York University. During his tenure at NYU, Dr. Jones was awarded a UNCF-Merck Graduate Dissertation Fellowship to further support his doctoral training. Dr. Jones would complete his doctoral training in 2005 and earn his Ph.D. in Microbiology. He continued his scientific training as a postdoctoral fellowship at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) from 2005 to 2006. In 2006, Marcus was promoted to a Staff Scientist at JCVI and subsequently promoted to an Assistant Professor in the departments of Genomic Medicine and Infectious Diseases. In 2014, Dr. Jones was recruited to be a member of the startup team for Human Longevity, Inc. to lead microbiome sequencing. In 2016, Dr. Jones was recruited to join Research Program Management at Regeneron to help establish and manage genetics collaborations for the Regeneron Genetics Center. Dr. Jones now heads the RGC Research Program Management team where he manages a team of scientists that provide program management support for all collaborations, therapeutic discovery projects, strategic initiatives, and research operations.
