Your contribution will change lives and transform America's workforce. Choose from three programmatic areas to help make a difference.
The Summer Research-Early Identification Program (SR-EIP) provides undergraduates from diverse backgrounds with summer research experiences at the country’s top institutions. The SR-EIP offers exceptional research training, mentoring, and transformational life experiences for young scholars. Students leave the program prepared to pursue competitive advanced degree programs. One student’s summer research experience costs around $8,000. We receive more than 2,000 applications and can only support up to 300 students each year.
Your gift in any amount will support more young scholars and help them to pursue their academic and career goals.
The Leadership Alliance National Symposium (LANS) is the annual culminating event of the Summer Research-Early Identification Program (SR-EIP). Undergraduate students travel from their summer research institutions to present their research. Graduate students, advanced degree scholars, faculty, and administrators provide feedback and mentoring. Taking place over three days, the entire Alliance community participates in discussion panels, networking events, a career fair, and more. Help contribute to the costs of sending a student to LANS, which is $800. A gift ranging from $1,000-$10,000 will help to sponsor a discussion panel that will help students navigate their academic and career paths. Giving $15,000-$20,000 will help to support a networking luncheon.
Your gift in any amount will sustain this important meeting ground for the next generation of American leaders and innovators.
By donating to New Initiatives, you make career development and networking opportunities available to alumni of our programs who are graduate students and early career professionals. Your gift ranging from $500 - $1,000 will support travel awards to attend research conferences and job interviews. In addition, unrestricted gifts will be applied where the need is greatest.
