Building Tools for Academic Success
For undergraduates, opportunities for training and mentoring begin during the academic year with our Academic Year Workshop program, through which students are exposed to research careers, opportunities for research experiences, and the core skills for forming collaborative learning groups.
Dr. Chelsea Pinnix describes how undergraduate research experiences helped to prepare her to be an outstanding physician-scientist...
We further encourage first-year, second-year, and third-year students in all disciplines to apply to the Summer Research Early Identification Program (SR-EIP). First-year students at our partner minority-serving institutions are encouraged to apply to the SR-EIP through our First-Year Research Experience program. All participating undergraduates travel to one of our more than 20 research sites to work with faculty, conduct research, and participate in professional development activities.
